Before You Buy — Choosing the Right Track
Which QUOYA model should I choose?+
It depends on the look you want and how much DIY you're comfortable with:
- QL500 — Best for durability and ease. Strong aluminium track with clip-on ceiling brackets and L-brackets for wall mounting already included. Joiners and brackets are visible.
- AT5810 — Sleek white coated track with hidden joiners. Clip-on ceiling brackets (visible) with 2 screws. Supports curved bay windows (90° and 135° bends). Wall brackets sold separately.
- QL600 — Same track as the AT5810 but with a hidden slide-on ceiling bracket (one concealed screw). Wall brackets sit flush with the track and are sold separately. The QL600 is also available in a Matter motor version and a battery-powered version. Best for modern/premium interiors.
In short: QL500 = strongest/easiest budget pick · AT5810 = sleek look, supports curves · QL600 = sleekest with hidden brackets (plus Matter and battery versions).
What's the difference between the AT5810 and QL600?+
They use the exact same track profile — the difference is the ceiling bracket. The AT5810 uses a strong clip-on bracket with 2 screws (visible from below). The QL600 uses a hidden slide-on, turn-to-lock plate with a single concealed screw, and the wall brackets sit flush with the track ends. If you want the most discreet installation, choose the QL600.
Which model supports curved or bay windows?+
Only the AT5810 and QL600 support curved tracks with 90° and 135° bends. The QL500 are straight-only tracks.
How do I measure my window for the track?+
Measure the full width where you want the track mounted (usually 15–25 cm wider than the window on each side, so the curtains stack off the glass when open). If you're wall-mounting, also check that you have at least 5–10 cm of clearance above the window frame for the brackets. For bay windows, measure each straight section separately and note the angle of each bend.
When measuring the length of the track, account for the space needed to park the curtains when they are fully open. Use this formula to calculate the extra length required:
Excess for parked curtains = (1.5 cm × number of gliders) + 20 cm on each side.
This total is the additional space to add to each end of the track.
What's the maximum track length?+
We offer three box set sizes: up to 3 m, 5 m, and 7 m. Each box set includes:
- Various 1 m track sections (the quantity depends on the set size)
- 1 × 50 cm, 2 × 20 cm, and 1 × 10 cm sections
You can mix and match these sections to build a track very close to your desired length without cutting. You can also cut track with a hacksaw or power tool for an exact fit. For very long tracks (wide living rooms, bi-fold doors) contact us first — we'll advise on joiners, motor load, and whether a centre support is needed.
What curtain weight can the track hold?+
Our motor can pull 50 kg+ on a straight track. Every bend reduces pulling power by around 30%.
For heavy curtains, do not use the generic wall plugs and screws included in the box — they're for general use only. Purchase specialist heavy-duty wall plugs (anchors) and extra-long screws suited to your wall type. The track itself is plenty strong enough; what matters is that your screw holes are fully secure.
Can I open from the centre or from one side?+
Yes — all models support both two-way central opening (two curtains parting in the middle) and one-way side-to-side opening. The box set includes everything for both configurations; just follow the relevant instructions during installation.
Can I put the motor on the left or right?+
Yes — the motor can be fitted on either the left or right side when installing.
